Week 7

I think educators should go as far as maing sure they have the same exact thing that all their students use. If they dont and they are using something more up to date, then i think the student will be left behind; but it wouldnt be the students fault, it would be the techers fault. SO i think the teachers need to have the exact same thing as the students.
I think that online chats and instant messaging do tkae away from the real instructing. I think when yoiu allow your kids to do this, they do not pay any attention to you anymore and on the chats or ims they probably are not talking about school related things, they are probably gossiping or joking around.
NO NO NO NO NO.... Face to face is the best way to do things. You can have it all typed out and then read it to them, but never just the text.
I believe that podcast can help students, after the have already heard it from the teacher. If they use podcast like someone would use a voice recorder. If they go home after school and listen to it just remember what the teacher said then i think they could be useful.
In a wierd way i think it can help you study. I think that videogames can be useful it done correctly. I think that it will help you with your concentration, becuase you have to concentrate on nothing but the video game when you are playing. I will let my kids play video game but not for any longer then an hour or so.

I do not like this website. I think it is just another one of these website that is useless. This is what your favorites are for in your internet explorer window. But this website is useless to me, and after this class i will never use it again.

Week 5, Wiki in the Classroom

I personally do not like Wiki. I found that most things a search for and find on this website, most of it is written by random people who do not know what they are talking about. Then im going to go back to my argument that i hate using this stuff myself so i will not use it in my classroom. I think i will be able to teach better without using all of these websites. I think i will be able to use fun activites more then a website.

I believe that anyway you can learn the best is the best way to learn, haha. If you learn better by using something different then tradtional style, then thats not the best way. Whatever way you can learn what you need to learn is the way the students need to do it. I know i learn better by seeing and not by reading. Or if someone is telling me how to do something, it is better just to do it once and show me what to do then to just tell me. SO i know i dont learn better in a tradtional setting, so it depends on what way you feel comfortable.

I know that different personalities have different learning styles. I have to be active and thats the best way i learn. And thats my personality, i have to be active all the time or im sleeping. But other people have to have it quiet and be alone and just sit there and learn. Yes it will help me to know my students better. If i know my students and how they learn the best, then thats how im going to teach that way they actually learn what i am teaching them. According to the test i will figure something out no matter what it takes.

Spreadsheet Blog

I like spreadsheet, it is very useful. You can do so many different things with a spreadsheet, and most of the work it does for you which makes it way easier. I am planning on using spreadsheet in my class for several different reasons, but the main reason is for keeping my grades in line. Once i have it all set up then it does all the work for me which will take a big load of my back.
As teachers we use spreadsheets because it is easier to keep everything organized while not using a ton of paper. There is a huge advantage of using spreadsheet over a calculator, spreadsheet all you have to do is enter the equation first then after that all you do is enter the numbers and it does all the calculations by it self.
I think the three primary functions, which are storing, calculating, and presenting information. I think these are the best reasons to use spreadsheet, and i will not be using it for anything else.

Inspiration

I think this could be a useful tool for teachers if they use alot of diagrams or models. If they like to link ideas together then they could use this program well by making the models and presenting them in class. I found that you could also add pictures and and videos which would keep the students attentions. For myself i really will not use inspiration or anything like this in my classroom, im more of a traditional teacher, books and and chalkboards is all i need.

The best type of writing activites would be blogging, this way everyone can read what everyone is writing and that way they can help and learn form each other. It owuld be good to also have a blog yourself so you can always stay in contact with your students wether in or out of class. They can give you feedback also to help you out with your teaching.

Week 2 Questions

I actually do not like using blogs. I just dont like doing them, i will read some of my friends blogs but not all the time. I think they are a waste of time for me to sit around reading someones thoughts on the internet when i can hear it straight from them. The only way i think blogs would be useful in education is if you were learning over the internet and not having the luxury of having a teacher in front of you. Then it would be useful because it would be liek you are being taught just over the internet. I also think it is a waste of students time for using blogs in the classroom. The teacher is getting paid to teach and not to post stuff on the internet so the students can read it. Teachers should be teaching the students while they are in the classroom and not over the internet.

I actually do not like using the internet in classrooms, actually i hate it. They come to class for a reason and that is to learn and do everything in person. So using some of these ideas from chapter 6 does not interest me. I wish we didnt even have the internet, hahaa well sometimes at least.
